Sapphire Windows are ideal for demanding applications due to their, high thermal conductivity, extreme surface hardness and their resistance to attack from acids and alkalis. Second only to Diamond, Sapphire is an extremely hard crystal and due to the structural strength sapphire windows can be much thinner than other commonly used windows with an improvement in transmission. Al2O3 has a transmission range from 0.2 – 5.5μm. ( 200nm to 5500nm)
